Hi there, it's JD here from 98.5 Sonshine FM. I'm taking part in the Leukaemia Foundation's World's Greatest Shave 2010. Please consider sponsoring me! It's a relatively small thing to do considering the pain and suffering of those living with, and unfortunately, dying from this disease. The funds we raise will help the Leukaemia Foundation to provide practical care and support to patients and families living with leukaemias, lymphomas, myeloma and related blood disorders. I'm dedicating this shave to a lovely young lady named Jess Merrells, (see photo above) who was diagnosed with Leukaemia last year at the age of 17 and is currently undergoing treatment, including chemotherapy, lumbar punctures, and bearing more pain than anyone can imagine. You might think me brave to get my head shaved, however, Jess is the really brave one, as she submits herself to treatment and deals with side effects including diabetes and the risk of infections.
